Dr. Ray Charles Lockamy, President
Ray is the son of the late Mary Emma and John "Big Willie” Lockamy. Ray was born in Dunn, North Carolina. He comes from a diverse heritage that taught him the traditions of Native American tribal healing, from his late Cherokee grandfather, and his grandmother, who was Lumbee Native American from North Carolina. His vision and passion came from hard work, life experiences and memories as a sharecropper‘s son. Through hard work and life lessons, Ray serves as a role model for horsemen, youth and families. He is a minister of the gospel and is driven by faith.
Ray is the owner of Lockhaven Ranch in Sunderland, Maryland. The name “Lockhaven “was chosen to prepare a safe haven for youth and families when learning about horsemanship and life values.
His heart and soul is in his mission to inspire youths to avoid an unnecessary experience of juvenile delinquency which can lead to incarceration. Ray has exposed the vulnerabilities of himself as an angry and misguided youth after the death of his father which lead to his own path of destruction at an early age. Hindsight is 20/20 so he seeks to improve the vision of those who will be the successors of our generations to come.
He has a series of reality shorts entitled "Point of Crossing" Scenes 1 - 7 which are now viewed and used on various parental websites and in other countries such as China, Africa and South America as a guide for troubled youths. Go to www.youtube.com He has also co-authored his first children's book "The Adventures of Tracks and Cookout" which can be purchased online through Barnes and Noble, Trafford Publishing and 25,000 other online retailers and bookstores.
